Australians have taken the Espresso Martini to heart after it was invented in London in the 1980’s. The story goes that a now-famous model came in to the bar of Dick Bradsell, inventor of other modern classics such as The Bramble. Her request for a particular type of drink resulted in this fabulous cocktail that will both a make a hit and give you a hit. Tip: Use fresh espresso coffee for the best espresso martini. Sugar syrup is optional.
- 30ml Kahlua or other coffee liqueur
- 30ml vodka
- 30ml freshly brewed espresso
- Coffee beans to garnish
- Sugar syrup to taste
- Measure kahlua, vodka and espresso into the cocktail shaker with ice.
- Shake well.
- Strain Espresso Martini into a chilled martini glass. Top with a sprinkle of coffee beans and serve to get the party started.
