Prepare this tasty meal for your first night of camping food, for full tummies and happy campers! Cook on the night or prepare beforehand and freeze, then heat up on your portable induction cooktop while the rest of the crew put up the tent!

Moroccan Beef and Couscous



  • 1Tbsp Olive oil
  • Couscous
  • 2 onions, chopped.
  • 2 c boiling water
  • 3 crushed cloves of garlic
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 500g blade or chuck steak cut into squares
  • 800g tin of tomatoes
  • ⅓ c of lemon juice
  • 2 sticks of cinnamon
  • 2 tsp of ground coriander
  • 2 c beef stock
  • 1 Tbsp oregano leaves


  • Add oil to large saucepan and place on portable induction cooktop. When oil is hot, add chopped onions and crushed garlic and cook for 3 minutes until onion is soft. Add meat and cook for 4 minutes until both sides are brown. Add remainder of ingredients and turn down heat. Simmer for 40 minutes until meat is tender.
  • Prepare couscous by placing in boiling water and adding butter. Leave to stand for 2 minutes.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy
