Introducing the next evolution of the Le Creuset Signature Frying Pan. A beloved classic, now new and improved, the Signature Frying Pan with wooden handle is an excellent choice for all sorts of day-to-day cooking tasks and matches other Le Creuset Signature products seamlessly.

What we love about it

Ideal for browning, searing, and caramelising your favourite ingredients, the Le Creuset Signature Frying Pan is crafted from enamelled cast iron with a satin black interior, which distributes heat evenly and seals the exterior of food. The result? It locks in moisture, nutrients and flavours.

The 24cm and 28cm sizes come with higher sidewalls than the original, so you can use it for braising and cooking down liquids as well as sauteing and browning. It’s also suitable on any cooktop (including induction) and is designed to distribute and retain heat evenly to achieve exceptional flavours and textures.

Now, onto the new handles…

They feature a newly designed ergonomic helper handle for a better grip and a stay-cool beech wood handle redesigned for comfort, as well as a hanging hook for convenient on-display storage. The updated design provides a more secure grip even while using mitts, so don’t be afraid to carry the pan from the stove to the table.

And one more thing, there’s no seasoning required!

Unlike traditional raw cast iron, Le Creuset enamelled cast iron does not require seasoning. The enamel coating prevents ingredients from coming into contact with raw cast iron and builds a natural patina over time that helps with food release. As there’s no need to season it, you can cook on it straight away and it’s really easy to care for – but always use cooking oil.

Cooking tips and tricks

  • Cast iron takes time to heat up perfectly so be patient and heat the pan gradually on a low to medium heat to get the best results.
  • Once it’s hot though, it retains its heat really well, making it your go-to for steaks, sauces, frittatas, curries, rich pasta sauces, fried rice, perfectly browned french toast and pancakes.
  • To check the pan is hot enough, try the water test. Flick a small amount of water onto the surface, if it sizzles then it’s hot enough to use.
  • We recommend using a non-smoking oil when cooking, like olive oil. Peanut oil is also a great option, especially when cooking Asian dishes.
  • We recommend washing your Le Creuset Signature pan by hand with warm, soapy water. If you have paper towels on hand, a quick once over to gather any residue will make the cleanup even easier.
