Let me tell you about the time I got to fly over to Sydney to meet one of my heroes. You see, I’ve been a massive Jamie Oliver fan since before the dawn of time. Jamie’s approach to flavour packed simple food and having a little fun in the kitchen is what appeals the most. His recipes are achievable and won’t take you two days to prepare and perhaps most importantly there’s no obscure ingredients that can only be found in the eastern mountains of Tibet. Jamie inspires the good kind of cooking, there’s no yelling, no pans flying across the kitchen, it’s all just a bit of fun.
Team Kitchen Warehouse gets ready to ride for youth!
One of Australia’s premier charity events, the Hawaiian Ride for Youth is held annually to raise funds for Youth Focus. Offering a range of free mental health services, Youth Focus supports young people and their families in overcoming the issues associated with youth suicide, depression and self-harm. Over 100 riders will embark on a gruelling journey of over 700kms from Albany to Perth stopping at high schools along the way to engage students in a conversation about positive mental health. On a recent trip to Tokyo, we had the opportunity to be taken out for dinner with Mino Tsuchida or in Australia we commonly refer to him as “Mr Global.” We were looking forward to Mino’s choice of restaurant as it had been a bit hit and miss with our culinary experiences in Tokyo, partly due to the fact we had children in tow that narrowed our choices.
