A roast dinner just isn’t a roast dinner without the delightful addition of a Yorkshire Pudding (or three)!

Traditional, delicious and perfect for seeping up up extra gravy left on your plate, the savoury, muffin-sized puddings are a tasty complement to your Sunday dinners. Perfect them with this easy-to-make recipe, just in time for Christmas in July!

Typically, Yorkshire Puddings are designed to pair with roast beef dinners, but we think they are simply too delicious to be categorised to one meat type, so feel free to use them with your roast chicken, lamb and turkey dinners as well!

PREP TIME: 65 Minutes

COOK TIME: 20 Minutes

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup of plain flour
  • 1/2 tsp of salt
  • 2 eggs, beaten lightly
  • 3/4 cup of milk
  • 1 1/2 tblsp vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Sift flour and salt into a bowl and make a well in the centre.
  2. Add in egg and milk and whisk until smooth.
  3. Pour mixture into a jug and refrigerate covered for 60 minutes.
  4. Preheat oven to 220C.
  5. In a standard-sized 6-cup muffin pan, place 1 tsp of oil in each cup.
  6. Place pan in oven for 4 minutes or until the oil is hot.
  7. Remove pan from oven and distribute batter evenly between the 6 cups.
  8. Place pan back in oven and bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden and risen.
  9. Serve immediately with your roast dinner.
